This morning, Sergei, came to meet us to the hotel to make sure we could find our way to the orphanage. We were fairly comfortable finding it on the Metro, but then weren’t quite sure once out of the Metro which direction to go. From the Metro station we exited, the orphanage was about a 3/4 of a mile walk. I’m not sure of the confusion, but once inside the orphanage we were only allowed to play with R & N for about 35 minutes. We were able to play outside the entire time. The kids love the outdoors. They play in the sandbox with shovels and run around and we also had them on the merry-go-round for a bit. We then had to take them inside and go. We will be back on Wednesday, but in the afternoon. We’ll be attempting the Metro/walk on our own this time. It’ll be easy. We’ve always been able to have 2 hour visits in the afternoons, so we will see....
Once back near our hotel, we went for chinese food for lunch. It was good, but again not cheap. And the portions weren’t your typical size for Chinese food, either. We then took a walk over to where our apartment, that we’ll be checking into next week, is located so we could become familiar with it’s surroundings.
Later in the afternoon I rested while Roger tried to track down our stroller via phone. Can't seem to find the right person/office to speak to from Singapore Airlines about this. No luck! We believe someone actually stole it off the carousel since it took us an hour and a half to get to the baggage area. I’m very frustrated, as we just purchased this stroller specifically for this week in Moscow with the kids. Not sure what we’ll do yet.

How fun to learn how to use the Metro to get from the orphanage to where you are staying. We went through them to get under streets, but we never took them anywhere (we always opted for taxis).
Sorry to hear about your stroller. Let me see if I can find the name of the man that Melissa Bridges used to help them find a stroller while in Moscow during their wait and I'll e-mail it to you!
Hey, when our team from church went to Russia in '06, all of our luggage was lost. Some came in at the end of our trip. But on the way back home, after we were checked in, 3 of us went back to the lost baggage place at the airport. They gave us permission to walk through their lost baggage room. We found 3 out of 4 suitcases right there (not just right there, it was a treasure hunt all the way), tags still intact. So I know that the center of town is quite a distance from the airport, but you could look on your way back. You would be very surprised what was in that room!!! It was truely eye-opening to see what people "lost!"

Good luck on tracking down the stroller! Hope you get your longer visit tomorrow and from now on. Hmmm... might need a sandbox after all? We know your Russian is limited, but wondering if you are seeing or hearing much of Obama's visit there? Curious as to how something like that plays out elsewhere. Have a wonderful day! G&Z

I am so glad court went well! The Metro system can be intimidating at first but it is VERY efficient (and so much cheaper).
Sorry about the stroller - that stinks. I cannot believe how long your wait at customs was - unbelievable.
