Well...I've re-read the last few of my posts (which have all been about the wait) and I have to say they come off as a bit down. Honestly, I have a very wonderful, cherished life and there is nothing difficult about it. Especially when difficult times is what so many people around the world are sadly experiencing these days. "Anxious" is a better word to describe how we feel about the waiting process rather than "hard" or "difficult". I must say it's also been somewhat reflective and therapeutic. We know, without a doubt, 100%, that we are on the right path to our child and it will be worth the wait. Besides, time does pass by quickly. It really seems to me that high school was not that long ago, but dare I say, it's been 25 years--Yikes! Time flies and we will gladly/patiently wait for our "new" joy to touch our already wonderful life.
Roger and I also would like to say, since Christmas is 1 week away and New Year's is a mere 2 weeks away, that we wish you all the gifts of peace, hope and love for the remainder of 2008 and for 2009!
Joy to ALL!
Love,
Roger & Joanne

I think most of us have been in your shoes, so we are familiar with the anxiety and anticipation of the wait. Don't worry about sounding gloomy. It is good sometimes to vent and just get it off your chest. Who better to share those feelings than those who've already been there/done that?
Thinking of you!
hi kids, cheer up and good luck!
i think santa is reading all this stuff we sweat up. my girl just got a visa and is coming on jan 8, 09
my dream is to go around the world on 2010 (ViVi Vancouver to Vladivostok), visit all my kids and grandchildren and pick and old russian navy boat for retirement fun.
few month ago, bumped into a girl from vladivostok and we kind of hooked up, now we are counting seconds to jan 8 and talking daily on Google Talk.
on top of that i have not seen my 2 grandchildren yet, and it has been years since talking to my daughter in poland.
feel for you kids, but dreams do come true, and the longer you wait, the more you care and make wiser decisions to make them a reality.
Hey, you gotta share! Some of us have been there and can really sympathize/empathize! No worries. I thought you were just being real with your thoughts and feelings. It is hard. But, the joy will make this hard seem like nothing. You'll see! : )
And, it sounds like you and Roger are contemporaries of me and Pat. . .we just had our 22nd Anniversary and it's been just over 25 years since High school. . .time definitely flies--especially when life is good.
I didn't think your post was 'down' or gloomy at all. It was real. And sometimes real can be a little depressing and definitely full of anxiousness, but 'real' is so much better than fake and hiding your true feelings.
Keep your chins up. Good things happen to good people, and you two are some of the 'goodest' (lol) people I know.
Hey! Sounds like a wonderful 'surprise' trip that you were able to take. When we were at the Embassy appt. and medical, there was a woman there from CHI that was coming home with an 11 month old girl! We were shocked since we have been hearing so much that they are hard to come by. She said they had been too! So, there is hope out there still!! We will be praying that your will get a call as soon as possible. Thanks for your encouraging notes on our blog. They have always made me laugh or smile and really encouraged me! Thanks! are "pooped"!
Merry Christmas to you both.

It is hard to go day after day waiting....I had put the adoption somewhat out of my mind for about 2 months, but we got news that the MOE is looking for a child for us, so that brought it back to the forefront of my thoughts.
I hope you get great news very soon!
Merry Christmas!
With Russian adoption things seem to go very slowly and then all of a sudden they go incredibly fast. This time last year we were waiting for our court date in Vladivostok and were told we had been given the toughest judge and it would take a lot longer, two days later we were told to be in Vladivostok within ten days for court! It is amazing how quickly your life can change.
Merry Christmas from New Zealand, you have an exciting year ahead of you.
Sarah
